Init image options

Init image

Instead of starting from scratch, an init image can be provided for the model. This often yields a better result and can be an effective way to guide the model in terms of colors used, perspective, etc.

When this option is used, a small version of the currently selected init image is displayed under the dropdown. To change the init image, select another frame in Aseprite.

Notes

For some tools, the use of an init image might seem strange. For example, it would be a mistake to conclude that when using the sketch model, the init image option is redundant. It can, on the contrary, be very useful for controlling the colors and shapes of the generated image.

Init image strength

When using an init image, the slider for init image strength will appear. This controls how much noise is added before the generation starts. Here are some general guidelines.

  • 0-300: Useful for extremely rough color guidance.
  • 300-400: Rough guidance of shapes and colors. Useful if you want to sketch rough color blobs of approximately where you want things to be.
  • 400-600: Medium guidance of shapes and colors. Useful if you want to create variations on an existing image.
  • 600-900: Detailed guidance of shapes and colors. Useful when adding details or slightly modifying a nearly finished piece.
